hey all, i'm kind of new to this forum thing so please be nice ^.^

anywho, i'm a level 20 Elementalist/Necromancer

i mostly only use my elementalist skills, which is Fire Magic.

i need help on a fire build that works, good damage, don't lose too much mana so fast, good skills, and all.

i always change my skills, but i always lose mana so fast, probaly cause , most of it take 15-25 mana. Need help please help

i am the exact same build as yhou...

i use the skills.. Flare, Fireball, Pheonix and firestorm.. then on the other 4 i use putrid explosion, bone horror, soul feast, and deathly swarm.

i am a level 14, but i am just now getting to Lions Arch. i dont move on until i do all of the side quests, so i have gotten to some of the better spells yet.

the best thig to do is get a staff or wand or something that gives you a chance to Fast-Cast fire spells. i have one and my spells cast quick, and just manage what you cast when, so you dont run out of energy

Well you will have to face facts that a fire ele WILL use lots of energy theres not a lot you can do about it, unitl you assend and get fire attunement and then later on capture elemental attunement. You need to max out energy storgae and look out for runes for that and a wand/artifcat that will give you extra energy.

My E/Me currently has 106* energy, and I STILL run out but thiers not much if any thing thats NOT dead before i do. my current skill set is flare,firestorm,metor shower, mark of rodgrot,fire and elemental attunement. If i'm not out hunting for elite skills the other 2 are used for arcance echo and my rez signet.

Theres very little that survives mark of rodgrot,firestorm and metro shower. Espicaly if the rest of the group are attaching it as they should.

* This is due to haveing 11+major rune in energy storage and a wand that gives +15 energy and a flame artifcat thats gives +22. The downside is they both give -1 energy regen so if you run out it takes a good couple of mins at least to recharge all the way.

Why not have 2 weapon sets then? Drop the negative regens after you've run dry.

I'm currently weilding a " Fire Staff of Enchanting"
energy+10
11-22
skill recharge 20%
fast cast 20%
enchantment last 20% longer

i like this staff i'm using...since i use both fire and elemental attunemnt, and for some of my skills which takes some time to cast, hoping it can get the 20% fast cast from the staff

id probably go with something like this

Fire magic - 11-12
energy pool (elementalist primary attribut) - 9-12

and then attribute the rest to one or two necro attributes of your choice...

that help any?

I recommend going with some Lava Font and Inferno/Phoenix for some nasty up-close damage. I prefer Inferno over Phoenix myself because of the lower energy cost and higher spike damage. If something gets close, hit Lava Font for 10 energy, Inferno for 10 energy, then spam Lava Font with the quick recharge. I can easily deal a couple hundred damage in just a few seconds in this manner and it's really useful when mobs run right past your warrior at you.

This is for PvE, of course.

My current setup fore Fire spells is:
Immolate (10 E) - just started using it... finding I like it better than Flare because of the 'on fire' status.
Fireball (15 E) - great ranged and splash damage
Firestorm (15 E)
Lava Font (10 E) - spammable with low energy cost/high damage returns
Inferno (10 E) - good spike damage

With 69 energy, this makes me nasty up close or at a distance. Be careful with your energy management and you'll be fine. Also, keep tabs on what you're attacking... if it's not a real threat, don't waste all your energy killing it. Hit it with a big spell, then just use your wand/staff/whatever to finish it off. Energy management is still key, even with a lot of Energy.

My main toon is E/Me specializing in fire. Flare is a *huge* energy sink; I've switched to Immolate recently for that very purpose which leaves me to cast bigger AoE spells like Meteor Shower and Fire Storm. Once I left Flare at home, I find now I rarely run out of energy.

I carry a fire wand and flame artifact which have boosts to fast cast, fire regen, and boost my fire attribute -- all good. I've started using Conjure Flame which gives me nearly double my fire attack using the wand. The only big downside I've seen to this is going against a Mes creature or opponent. There are plenty of hexes out there to really put a crimp in non-spell attacks.

Just my couple of coppers.

If you're sticking with el/n, and you don't want to run ele attunement, you can always bring offering of blood, as well.

Flare is far too much of a drain to constantly be spamming, unless you are using a build similar to the one mentioned earlier that utilizes it for regenerating your energy stock in conjunction with ether renewal. With Fire Attunement, Aura of Restoration (both pretty much a given for a pyro) together with Ether Renewal you will actually get a net 9 energy GAIN for casting flare. So use a build with Flare, 4 of your favorite AoE high energy nuking spells, AoR, FA and ER for a pretty contented little pyromancer. If you are still running out of energy you can sacrifice a AoE spell for Arcane Echo (if you're a E/Me) and echo the ER.

I found this VERY nice ele elite spell called glyph of energy

Costs 5 energy and makes next spell cost 20 less energy and NO exhaustion quite quick recharge time too.

The only real problem with this build is relying on enchantments. Once you advance much further in the game, nearly all mesmer-type critters have Shatter Enchantment on them and that's the first thing they go for. Not only will you lose the Aura, but you get hit for damage and have to wait for a recharge to recast. Then, they'll see you've got the enchantment again and Shatter once more. If you've got an answer for that, I'd love to know.

I find with a high damage wand, I rarely have to worry about running out of energy, even with high-cost AoE skills like Meteor Shower. I tend to spam Immolate as much as possible across the mob (tab, space, Immolate, repeat) to weaken what my AoE spells have already softened.

Granted, this tends to work better in PvE, so I can't necessarily speak for PvP effectiveness. Any suggestions?
